Jora Vision celebrates opening “story coaster” Eagle Warriors in VinWonders Phú Quốc, Vietnam

After past successful creative collaborations between Vinpearl and Jora Vision, Jora Vision has again been selected to provide the full conceptual and schematic design development for yet another immersive attraction. This time with the goal to create Vietnam’s first story coaster, which is now open to the public.

Location

Eagle Warrior is an indoor suspended family coaster designed and produced by Vekoma Rides with a fully custom designed creative concept by Jora Vision, followed by a full production realization by Unite Art.

The ride is located in one of the most immersive and biggest theme parks in Vietnam, "VinWonders Phu Quoc". Unlike any other theme park in Vietnam, VinWonders Phu Quoc park includes 6 separate areas inspired by the world’s famous civilizations and ancient myths. It is one of the most invested theme parks in Asia, debuting many entertainment experiences for the first time in Vietnam. VinWonders is a world-class recreation brand owned by Vingroup.

Eagle Warrior is located in the “Adventure World” zone, where visitors embark on an adventure back to a mysterious ancient age where the Maya and Greek civilizations dominated. Entering Adventure World, visitors will spot from a distance a mysterious Aztec Pyramid, housing the complete indoor attraction including queue lines, pre-shows and the ride itself. The overall look and feel of the show building is contemporary to the story so quite ‘new’, far from the ruins that we can admire today. Colorful and rich in decorations with beautiful relieves and patterns.

Experience & Vistor Journey

June Ren, Managing Director Asia at Jora Vision explains: “Jora Vision was excited to showcase its creative skills to go beyond creating just a “theme” coaster. Our aim was to really evolve Eagle Warriors into a true “story” coaster, the difference being that a story coaster brings visitors along for a plot - a beginning, middle, and end. Through these experiences, visitors need to disembark having played a role, in our case the journey of becoming an Eagle Warrior.”

Upon entering the pyramid building, visitors are plunged in their story-driven adventure of the Eagle Warriors. Visitors will learn and experience that during the Aztec empire there was a group of brave and fearless soldiers called "Eagle Warriors", an elite of fighters amongst the Aztec army.

Visitors, now Eagle Warrior recruits, are put on a training path to join this heroic division. Passing through the: Battle Hall, Garden of Holy Water, Armours Path, Hero Hall and Chief’s Room, visitors eventually enter the Temple of the Wind where they are asked to face the last task: the treacherous Eagle's Flight.

The battalion chief, a veteran in the Eagle Warriors, explains the mission: to face the dangers of the Mythical realm and return safely to earth. This journey is full of spells, monsters and mysterious gods which all try to defeat the candidates, including the terrible serpent Quetzalcoatl. With the help of a beautiful priestess, visitors are able to reach this perilous place and complete their spiritual journey. Upon their return, they are rewarded with the privilege to join the elite and finally become real Eagle warriors themselves.

The whole visitor journey will be brought to life using of state-of-the-art immersive lighting, themed environments, special and practical effects, all wrapped up in a compelling narrative.

June Ren concludes: ““We are excited to see that more parks are showing interest in these types of rides embracing unique and meaningful (cultural) stories. Therefore, we are thrilled to announce that yet another creative collaboration between Vinpearl and Jora Vision will open end of this year. This being an elaborate 4.500 m2 immersive water boat dark ride, called “Tata World” for VinWonders Nha Trang. That is all I can share at this moment, but more will follow soon…”.
