WORLD'S FIRST PANDA MUSEUM DESIGNED BY JORA VISION IS OPEN
Finally the world’s first interactive Panda Museum, part of the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, can be experienced by visitors from all over the world. We are honoured that we were responsible for the complete design of this unique experience.
The new museum has the important role of providing an immersive and educational experience for the millions of visitors each year. The new museum will inspire, amaze and educate visitors about the important role the Panda Base plays in the research and protection of these amazing animals.
The challenge behind the design was to find the best balance between the huge tourist volumes and the limited architectural space of the museum. We designed a walkthrough experience, defined by a clear storyline, appealing for all visitors regardless of their socio-demographic background. A well balanced combination of spatial immersive theming, interactive hands-on exhibits and digital guidance proved to be the best solution for the project.
The protection by Panda Base for the endangered population of Giant Pandas has become a great human achievement in the pas 30 years. Its new museum is a great contribution in the understanding and the unfolding of the secrets behind the Panda. We are proud to have made a contribution to the further development and improvement of such an important Chinese institution. We hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to everyone who loves and protects these cute bears.
